The Residence Rooms are a tribute to the eclectic tastes of the Maharaja. Elaborate ceiling details, Bikaner terrazzo floors and traditional crafts sit in quiet harmony with Portuguese tiles and a distinctly English colour palette. A couch and study desk framed by Indian tapestry continue the narrative of cultivated comfort, while brick-red bathrooms finished with black and white subway tiles and vintage sconces lend the spaces a distinctly old-world charm. Light-filled and fresh, these rooms, like all our living quarters, offer a calm sanctuary set apart from the hyperactivity of the city.

The Regimental Rooms reflect a ceremonial order that appealed to the soldier who was king. A quiet nod to Narendra Singh ji’s military years runs through the space in its balance, symmetry and subtle references to regalia. Rendered in a palette of scarlet, blue and gold, stripes march across cushions, crests hold their place above the bed and brass trophies keep company with ship lanterns and polished wood. Bathrooms finished with vintage accents, cut glass and sage green walls continue the room’s unmistakably regimental character.

Quite apart from the themes that run through our other guest rooms, the Republic Suites arrive at a distinctly contemporary conclusion. Dramatic and assured, these suites are defined by strong architectural lines and a palette of steely blue and concrete grey, recalling an era when India’s great modernist architects reimagined the way the country lived and occupied space. Chic to the core, the suites unfold generously with separate living areas and intimate dining spaces. Mosaic bathrooms finished with cane and stone accents complete the experience, lending warmth and texture to these confidently modern interiors.
