Temple Trail

Quite apart from the regular tourist map, our temple trail features desert and high plateau locations rich in tradition and folklore. A short drive from the hotel, the Nabdhoongar temple is located on a high plateau overlooking the vast expanse of the Thar. This entire area is a treasure trove of ancient craftsmanship, some hidden and some exposed. A mighty monsoon-fed lake and lush, overgrown gardens with peacocks and fruit trees make up this decaying, enchanting complex. Vast landscapes and ever changing terrains offer a rare insight into the traditions and beliefs of the hardy people of Jaisalmer.
